Big Fat Man Has a Big Fat Heart!

Print E-mail

3 year old Malia Jusczyk has a very aggressive childhood cancer known as Stage IV  Neuroblastoma. The cancer has metastasized into her bones and bone marrow. Immediately after the debilitating diagnosis, Malia's parents, Megan and Glen, left Orlando, Florida in order to provide their daughter with the best treatment currently available to her at the Children's Hospital/Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts.

To survive, Malia's little body now has to endure six rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, radiation, surgery, countless blood transfusions, etc. For families affected by neuroblastoma, the medical costs alone typically exceed $500,000. With many costs not covered by health insurance, this experience can devastate a family financially.

To raise money for Malia's treatment Bill Siegenthaler, a local businessman, has decided to lose 100lbs by his birthday December 2nd. For every pound he loses between now and then he is asking people to pledge 25 cents, 50 cents, a dollar, whatever they can afford.

We at Towndigger.com applaud his efforts  and I think that this is a great way to get attention for this wonderful cause! So please help and tell your friends.
