South Lake High Presents Dinner Theater with a Side of Murder, Mystery & Comedy

Print E-mail
GROVELAND — South Lake High School Theatre is presenting “Southern Fried Murder” on February 17-19 at 7 p.m. at the school’s cafeteria, located at 15600 Silver Eagle Road in Groveland.

“Sothern Fried Murder” by Billy St. John is set way down South in New Orleans where wealthy family matriarch Magnolia Capote has summoned her kinfolk to dinner in a fancy restaurant to discuss her will. When Mrs. Capote is murdered, mayhem ensues and her possible heirs become involved in a treasure hunt to find her will. Dinner guests will have the opportunity to meet the actors milling about during the pre-show and those same actors will actually be serving dinner to the dining room patrons as the dinner show progresses.

The dinner theatre with comedy, murder and mystery is the perfect setting in South Lake County for an enjoyable dinner show. The four-course meal is provided by Chef Candace Huxhold and the students of the South Lake High Culinary Arts Department. The menu for the evening begins with corn chowder followed by a garden salad than an entrée of fried chicken breast with rice pilaf and vegetables and freshly baked rolls. The meal concludes with an apple tart with caramel sauce. Beverage choices are iced tea, lemonade and water.

Join South Lake High School Theatre as they share this hilariously entertaining comedy-mystery that will have the audience on the edge of their seat. The audience is totally involved in this show and one audience member will even be recruited to play a role in the show. Follow Southern Fried Murder’s various characters as they attempt to solve the mystery of Magnolia Capote’s will and determine which of her kinfolk will inherit her wealth.
